The European Union will suspend the agreement with Russia, which facilitates the issuance of Schengen visas.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijarto, in a video message on Facebook.
According to him, the EU will not introduce a complete ban on issuing visas, as there is no consensus on this issue.
The minister added that Hungary, along with some other EU member states, opposes Russia's visa ban.
It was previously reported that the European Union intends to suspend an agreement that simplifies visa applications for Russians in order to make it more difficult for its citizens to travel to Europe.
Before the meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU countries, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, called for an understanding during the debate on the ban on issuing visas for Russians.
We will remind you that Germany and France do not want to introduce a complete ban on issuing visas for Russians, as this can allegedly unite the citizens of the Russian Federation even more strongly around the Putin regime.
