A ship carrying the first batch of Ukrainian grain for Africa arrived at the port of Djibouti. MV Brave Commander under the flag of Lebanon transported 23,000 tons of wheat destined for neighboring Ethiopia.
This is reported by the BBC.
The journey from Ukraine to the port of Djibouti took two weeks.
Workers began loading the ship to unload the valuable cargo - two giant cranes were installed for this operation.
Djibouti is a tiny country with a population of 900,000 people, but it has one of the busiest ports on the continent.
According to the UN's World Food Program (WFP), it takes about a week to bag wheat and truck it to Ethiopia, where 20 million people need food aid.
The organization paid for the supply as supplies to support refugees and people displaced by conflict and drought began to run low.
Before the war in Ukraine, the ZPS received three quarters of its food aid from Ukraine and Russia.
It will be recalled that on August 16, the ship Brave Commander with grain for Africa left the port "Pivdenny".
