Hungary hopes for increased supplies from Gazprom from September - Sijarto

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary wants to reach an agreement with Gazprom to increase gas supplies in September. This is reported by Reuters.

"There is a proposal to increase the supply of gas, in the coming days we will finalize it with Gazprom and sign an agreement under which we could get an increase in daily supplies," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijarto.

Sijarto did not disclose the details of this agreement, but a month ago he agreed on an additional 700 million cubic meters of gas through Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, stated that Budapest intends to agree with Moscow on the additional purchase of 700 million cubic meters of gas during the summer, in order to calmly pass the winter period. For this, Peter Szijjarto visited Moscow and according to the new agreements, by the end of August, an additional 2.6 million cubic meters of gas will be delivered to Hungary through the Turkish Stream gas pipeline every day.
