Ukrainians continue to fight against the Russian invaders. The indomitability of our people inspires the whole world.
This was reported by the Ukrinform agency, which published the statement of the Permanent Representative of Great Britain to the United Nations, James Kariuki, made during the meeting of the Organization.
"Ukraine is fighting for the principles of the UN Charter. All members of the Security Council have a responsibility to recognize this. This is a fight that has inspired the world with its courage and defiance in the face of cruelty," the diplomat said.
Kariuki appealed to the Russian Federation to immediately withdraw its troops from Ukraine, and to achieve responsibility for the crimes of the occupiers before peace.
"On Independence Day, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Ukraine and its heroic people, who continue to resist Russia's attempts to change borders by force," the deputy ambassador concluded.
We will remind, on August 24, Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson arrived in Ukraine with an official visit. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy presented him with the order.
