Ukraine will be ready to join the EU by the end of 2024 — Shmyhal

Ukraine is gradually integrating into the energy, economic and social space of the European Union, but the country will be fully ready for membership at the end of 2024. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmigal during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on August 23.

"We continue to actively implement European legislation and have already fulfilled about 70% of the Association Agreement with the EU. Visa-free customs will be introduced by the end of the year. Industrial and digital will follow. European integration work has not stopped for a day. And by the end of 2024, we plan to be fully ready to join the European Union. This is our valuable and civilizational path," Shmyhal said at the government meeting.

The prime minister also noted that as part of Ukraine's recovery plan, the government is working with international partners so that they participate in the recovery and development of individual regions and bring their unique experience during this recovery.

"We have formed a clear and understandable vision of how Ukraine will become a successful and prosperous member of the European Union. And we will certainly implement this plan in full after the victory," he emphasized.
