"During our conversation, Rafael Grossi, Director General of IAEA, said that in response to Ukraine's request, he is ready to send a delegation of IAEA to the Zaporizhzhya NPP. I have paid attention to the timing of the mission's work on the threats to nuclear safety, which were caused by Russia's military actions," Kuleba wrote.
On August 17, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged Russia to withdraw its troops from the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP and allow the IAEA mission there.
On August 15, Energoatom stated that periodic shelling of the Zaporizhzhya NPP by Russian troops posed a serious risk to the safe operation of the plant.
