Moldova reacted to the plans of unrecognized Transnistria to join the Russian Federation

Moldova's Bureau of Reintegration responded to a statement by an agency of the unrecognized Transnistrian region about plans to seek "independence" from Chisinau in order to become part of Russia in the future, NewsMaker reported.

"All international partners and constitutional authorities strongly support the formula for a peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, respecting Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders," the office said.

The office added that Moldova's reintegration is the main goal of the negotiations on the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.

Earlier, Russian-occupied Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev said that Transnistria intended to achieve "independence" from Moldova in order to become part of Russia in the future.

In turn, a member of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Dmitry Belik claims that this is allegedly a matter of the near future.
