The UK will ban imports of Russian coal as of August 10 and will refuse Russian oil as of December 31.
The corresponding amendment as part of the sanctions regime against Russia came into force on July 21, the British government reported.
This amendment prohibits the import of oil and petroleum products, coal and coal and gold products, as well as the purchase, supply and delivery, directly or indirectly, of these goods.
It also prohibits technical assistance, financial services and facilities, and brokerage services related to these commodities.
The ban on gold imports went into effect on July 21, the ban on coal imports will begin on August 10, 2022, and the ban on oil imports will begin on December 31, 2022.
