In the race for the leadership of the Conservative Party of Great Britain and, accordingly, the Prime Minister of the country, according to the results of the final round of elections the former head of the Ministry of Finance Rishi Sunak and Foreign Secretary Liz Truss remained, reports the TV channel Sky News.
The results of the vote were announced by the head of the so-called "Committee 1922" (a parliamentary group from the Conservative Party in the House of Commons) Sir Graham Brady on Sky News.
Britain's junior trade policy minister, Penny Mordont, dropped out of the race, as she received the lowest number of votes - 105 - in all rounds of the election. Sunak and Truss received 137 and 113 votes, respectively. In this round, however, the foreign minister had the support of 27 votes, while the former finance minister had 19.
Sunak and Truss will now go head-to-head on the Conservative vote.
