Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Vasyl Malyuk as interim head of the Security Service of Ukraine by a relevant decree.
According to Presidential Decree No. 504/2022, Vasily Malyuk was appointed interim head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Vasily Malyuk graduated from the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine in 2005 (specialty "Jurisprudence").
Since 2001, he did military service in state security bodies. During his service in the regional departments of the Security Service of Ukraine, he held positions from an operative to the deputy head of the department - the head of the department for fighting corruption and organized crime.
From January 2020 to March 13, 2020 - First Deputy Head of the SBU Main Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime.
First Deputy Chairman of the SBU - Head of the Main Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the SBU Central Directorate (from March 13, 2020 to July 26, 2021).
On February 16, 2022, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs by the decree of the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
On March 3, 2022 by the decree of the President of Ukraine he was appointed First Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine.
On March 25, 2022 Vasily Malyuk was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General.
