The condition of former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, who is being treated at the Vivamed clinic in Tbilisi, is extremely serious, lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze said.

"Saakashvili's condition is extremely serious. His face is blackened, pigments have appeared, his hands are wrinkled. The color of his face is like a person who died 2-3 days ago," the lawyer told reporters on Thursday, writes UNN.

In his opinion, a law provision has to be applied to Saakashvili, according to which he will be temporarily suspended and sent for treatment abroad.

Earlier, representatives of Georgian Penitentiary Service issued a statement that Saakashvili's condition is under medical control and he is receiving the necessary medical care.
