Turkey begins construction of new gas pipeline in the Black Sea

A ceremony of welding and lowering the first pipe of the new gas pipeline in the Black Sea was held in Turkey. It will connect the Sakarya field and the distribution stations on the coast. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the event.

This is reported by Ukrinform.

"The first 10 million cubic meters of gas will enter the system in 2023. The Sakarya gas field will reach peak production in 2026. We will increase the daily capacity of gas production up to 40 million cubic meters with 40 wells, which will be drilled in the field," - said the head of state.

In the near future, the drilling vessel Abdulhamid Khan will begin laying pipes for the new gas pipeline in shallow water near the coast. Once the onshore section of the pipeline is complete, several drilling vessels will continue to work offshore.
