Stoltenberg believes that peace in Ukraine is possible, but at a price

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that it is possible to establish peace in Ukraine, the question is what price they are willing to pay for it.

"The question is not whether peace is possible. The question is how high is the price of willingness to pay for peace," he said at the annual "Kultaranta Discussions" event on foreign and security policy at the presidential residence in Finland, which began Sunday.

Stoltenberg said it is not his job to judge how much the world will have to pay.

"It's up to the Ukrainians. We have a responsibility to support them. The best way for President Putin to achieve peace in Ukraine would be to end the war he started," the alliance secretary general said.

"We have a responsibility to ensure that Putin does not achieve his goal and that the war does not escalate. In doing so, NATO should think about how it can be a strong player and prevent the escalation of war," Stoltenberg stressed.

He did not rule out that the world order will change, but solutions to disputes must be found on a diplomatic basis.
