Zelensky granted Ukrainian citizenship to journalist Nevzorov - Gerashchenko

Russian journalist Alexander Nevzorov and his wife Lidia were granted Ukrainian citizenship. The corresponding decree was signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

This was announced by Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in Telegram.

"Alexander Nevzorov and his wife Lydia Nevzorova by the decree of President Vladimir Zelensky granted Ukrainian citizenship for outstanding services to our country," he wrote.

Alexander Nevzorov confirmed the granting of Ukrainian citizenship.

"About the Ukrainian citizenship. Without further ado. Everything is very simple. What is the war in Ukraine? (If you wash away the political and national rhetoric from the event.) It is a crime. There is a criminal and a victim of a crime. There is the murderer and the one he is killing, or trying to kill. The criminal is Russia. The victim is Ukraine (...) Everyone makes his own choice. It is important to understand that there is no third option. I side with the victim. And I'm damn grateful to those exhausted, desperate, bloody people of Ukraine for letting me take my place among them," Nevzorov wrote on Telegram.

Alexander Nevzorov is a Russian journalist and TV host. He is the author of the famous former criminal and political program "600 Seconds" and the feature film "Purgatory," which recounts the events of the Chechen war. He became a deputy of the Russian State Duma four times.
