On the evening of June 2 a man was shot dead in the center of Moscow, Ekho Kavkaza reported, citing the press service of the Investigative Committee. A criminal case was opened under articles on murder and illegal trafficking of weapons.

The agency did not name the slain man; the report only noted that he was born in 1960. A RIA Novosti source in law enforcement agencies said the victim was 62-year-old businessman Hovhannes Kamaryan, who was wanted in Armenia on suspicion of preparing a murder for mercenary purposes. According to Baza, Kamaryan owned a small consulting firm in Russia, but his main assets were in his family.

In 2013, Kamaryan tried to organize the contract killing of his opponent Rafik Madoyan, who was allegedly a member of the entourage of the now-deceased Aslan Usoyan, known as Ded Khasan, according to TVG channel 112. Kamaryan allegedly promised the executor $500,000 and a mansion in Spain, but police prevented the crime.

On the morning of June 3, the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the suspect was detained. According to Baza, he is 24-year-old Armenian citizen Airik Ervandyan.
