The Ukrainian military will determine the range of use of HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, which Kyiv will soon have to receive. This was stated by the new U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Brigitte Brink, at a briefing in Kyiv.
"As President Biden announced yesterday, a $700 million security package has been signed. It includes HIMARS systems, which are long-range artillery systems. It will help Ukrainian forces to strike more accurately at greater distances. Exactly what distance will be determined by the Ukrainian forces themselves," she said.
Earlier, it was reported that the MLRS, which Ukraine has persistently asked for, is provided with a political commitment not to use these weapons on targets on Russian territory.
