Local scientists called for the development of deposits located on the territory of the region.
In the Odesa region told how to get rid of salt deficit in Ukraine, which arose because of the war against Russia. They offer to develop alternative deposits, located on the territory of the region.
This was told by Professor of Geology Department of the Odessa National University named after I.I. Mechnikov Vladimir Kadurin.
According to the scientist, the best option to replace salt from Artemivsk and Slavyansk could be the product of Izmail deposit. Its reserves are about 4 billion tons and can meet the needs of Ukraine for thousands of years ahead. Depth of salt in the deposit is more than 100 meters.
"It could well replace Artemovskoye and Slavyanskoye. If the situation in the area of Soledar will remain the same for a long time, it is necessary to develop the Izmail deposit," said Kadurin.
Recall that in recent weeks in Ukraine there is a shortage of salt. This is due to the fact that the State Enterprise "Artemsol" in Soledar, Donetsk region has temporarily stopped its work due to constant shelling from the Russian occupants. It provided about 90% of Ukraine's salt production. Currently, only the Drogobych salt plant operates in the country, but its capacity is not enough to supply even the Lviv region.
