At the beginning of Russia's war against Ukraine, Kremlin head Vladimir Putin was assassinated. The situation did not receive any publicity.

This was stated by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov in an interview for the publication "Ukrainian Truth".

"There have been attempts on Putin... there was even an assassination attempt on him through, as they say, representatives of the Caucasus not so long ago. This is non-public information. Absolutely unsuccessful attempt, however it really took place... It was about two months ago. Once again, it was unsuccessful. There is no publicity about this event, but it did take place," Budanov said.
