U.S. President Joe Biden has signed into law $40 billion in aid to Ukraine that Congress previously approved, the White House reports.
"On Saturday, May 21, 2022, the President signed into law HR 7691, the 'Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2022,' providing additional emergency appropriations for fiscal year 2022 to federal agencies to respond to the situation in Ukraine and to provide assistance," the White House said in a statement.
These funds will be used to support Ukraine so that supplies of military aid will be uninterrupted until the lend-lease program is operational, Ukrainian authorities noted.
