President Volodymyr Zelensky assured that Ukraine will never recognize the "autonomy" for Donbas that Russia offers by seizing territories and killing people. He said this in an interview with the Italian channel Rai 1.

"The broad autonomy of Donbas... There is nothing left there. Broad autonomy of what? We supply water to this territory, people want to return to their homes. They have now destroyed the part that we controlled, offered non broad autonomy. Now they have recognized the territories of Donbas and Luhansk, these "republics", they have recognized them as separate "republics"...", Zelensky said.

The president noted that Russia did not talk about any autonomy, but simply went to take the territories.

"What's the issue here - you can't kill tens of thousands of people before you talk about this or that format of these territories. That's the problem. They've killed, they've destroyed, and they say - let's have autonomy now. We will never recognize their autonomy," Zelensky stressed.
