Ukraine, Sweden, and Finland to attend NATO Military Committee meeting

The Chiefs of Staff of Ukraine, Finland and Sweden will take part in a meeting of the NATO Military Committee, the highest military body of the alliance. This was reported by the NATO press service.

According to the information at the NATO website, the Military Committee will meet on May 19 in Brussels. Admiral Rob Bauer, head of the Military Committee, will chair the meeting.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will join the member countries' chiefs of staff for the first session to review the geostrategic context and preparations for the Madrid summit in June.

The second session will focus on Russia's war in Ukraine, with the defense chiefs of NATO partner nations Finland, Sweden and Ukraine joining the discussion.

The third session will focus on the implementation of the Euro-Atlantic Deterrence and Defense Concept and NATO's long-term posture.

The Chiefs of Staff will then meet with NATO's Asia-Pacific partners, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the Republic of Korea, to discuss regional developments.
