Ukraine may receive the second tranche of macro financial assistance from the EU in May

As early as May, Ukraine may receive the second tranche of macrofinancial assistance from the European Union since the beginning of the war. The third tranche may be opened in June.

These are the results of the international donor conference in support of Ukraine in Warsaw, said Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.

"Had an extremely fruitful conversation with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on financial support for Ukraine, as well as our movement towards candidacy and future membership in the European Union.

Regarding support, the European Commission was one of the first institutions to immediately respond and provide macro-financial assistance to Ukraine. Now we are talking about providing the second tranche as early as in May and a possible opening of a new tranche of support to Ukraine in June", - Shmygal said.

In addition, the official said that he discussed the details of the transfer to Ukraine of 1.8 billion euros of aid, which was collected at a donor conference four weeks ago.

Geopolitical tensions have had a devastating effect on Ukraine's economic and financial stability. That is why the EU has accelerated the allocation of economic aid to Ukraine.
