Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the Verkhovna Rada to adhere to the principles of wise rationalism and healthy nationalism in its work.
Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, he noted that he had addressed many parliaments in recent days.
"But I have not addressed you. This is not neglect, but on the contrary, great confidence. You are here. You know very well what is going on in our power and you know very well what to do. I believe that hasn't changed in these nearly 10 weeks. And I will be happy if the following is obvious and undeniable to you," he said.
"You are the people's deputies of the greatest power of our time! People's deputies of Ukraine! The key words are people and Ukraine. Deputies and politicking should be forgotten until peaceful times, or better to forget forever. The agenda of the Verkhovna Rada is clear. The key word is order. I think there is no time for spam, for quarrels and PR, everyone knows you anyway. Wise rationalism and healthy nationalism are important," said the President.
He called the parliament "part of the great Ukrainian army."
"Your front is the legislative field on which you must work for our people, our state, our victory. Like our army and the whole country: 24/7. Without days off, unnecessary emotions, empty slogans and division," said Zelensky.
"Today we have one party - Ukraine. One faction - Ukraine. We have one mono-majority - Ukraine. The only one, strong, independent. Anything that does not help her or God forbid worse: harms, weakens or splits should be - no! - Not in the minority. It must be a thing of the past," said the president.
According to him, "now there are only two things that justify the absence of the deputy. His work abroad or in the regions. For the interests of Ukraine. Or his death. For the interests of Ukraine. Ukraine is not interested in anything else. It does not need the other, it will not have the other! The other comes after the Russian warship!"
"Don't waste time on unnecessary laws, there are important priorities for the power," the president urged.
"Laws must be timely like the lend-lease. Sharp like "Bayraktar" and "Stugna." Beneficial, like the Neptune. Glory, like our army. And to go down in history. As the people of Ukraine!", - said Zelensky.
