US President Joe Biden has officially proposed to appoint diplomat Brigitte Brink as US ambassador to Ukraine.

This was reported by the White House.

According to it, the president has sent to the Senate a proposal to appoint Brigitte Brink as US ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Ukraine.

Biden announced his intention to nominate her to this position on April 25.

Brink is now Ambassador to Slovakia and before that was, among other things, Senior Advisor and Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the State Department, dealing with Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.
