Johnson has agreed with leaders to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities so that Russia will not think of attacking

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on world leaders during joint talks to increase support for Ukraine and hand over critical weapons to counter Russian invasion.

This was reported by The Telegraph.

"This afternoon, the prime minister spoke with the leaders of the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Romania, Japan, the European Commission, the European Council and the NATO secretary general about the situation in Ukraine," a British government spokesman said.

Downing Street noted that Johnson, in a telephone conversation with U.S. President Joe Biden, said there was an "extreme need" for further military support for Ukraine, given the new Russian army offensives in the east of the country.

"The prime minister briefed leaders on his visit to Kiev earlier this month. He stressed the urgent need for further military support for Ukraine in the face of a major Russian offensive in the Donbas and ongoing attacks elsewhere," Johnson was told.

"The leaders agreed to work together to find a long-term security solution so that Ukraine will never be attacked like this again. They discussed the need to increase pressure on Russia with additional sanctions against Putin's war machine as well as further diplomatic isolation," the British government was informed.

The allies also reportedly agreed to "cooperate closely in the coming weeks and months."
