The Tagansky District Court of Moscow refused to satisfy Ekho Moskvy's lawsuit to block the radio station. Thus, the court agreed with the position voiced at the meeting by employees of the Prosecutor General's Office and Roskomnadzor. The Novaya Gazeta wire service reports about this.
Judge Nadezhda Kiseleva found the arguments of Ekho Moskvy's lawyer to be groundless. "There are no grounds for restricting access to the" Ekho Moskvy" website. On the radio there is no indication of when there were violations, what violations there were, on the site - what specific publications violated the rights of third parties. There were no notices or other documents. There was no need to restrict access to all publications," said Orkhan Mikailov, Ekho Moskvy's lawyer.
To recap, Roskomnadzor blocked access to the website of "Ekho Moskvy" radio station at the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office. After that, Ekho's board of directors decided to liquidate the radio and website. "Ekho Moskvy" decided to shut down the site and delete all corporate social media accounts.
