Ukraine has basic food reserves for several years

Ukraine for several years is provided with basic food products, as well as raw materials for the production of animal feed, so that in the near future there will be no problems with food in the country, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Nikolay Solskyy told the publication "Economic truth".

"We have reserves of basic products for several years. Vegetable oil - at least for 10 years. We should separately add that since we have a lot of cereals, and some of them are fodder for animals, we definitely have meat and dairy products. And there is no special reason to worry", he said.

According to his data, Ukraine annually consumes 5-7 million tons of crops, while 20 million tons of grain from last season and 30 million tons of this season crop are expected in the granaries of the country. Taking into account the elevator capacities available in the country, the main problem will be the export of crops to foreign markets under the blockade of Ukrainian seaports by Russian warships, the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy underlined.

"We do not see problems with food in Ukraine now. They are there where it cannot be delivered, but this is different. Everyone can see that the goods, their nomenclature in the stores has diminished, but it is there. I have a feeling that the situation has started to recover little by little," Solskyy concluded.
