According to the results of processing 97% of the votes, the incumbent President of France Emmanuel Macron wins the first round of the presidential election, beating Marine Le Pen by 3 percent.

Macron won 27.35 percent of the vote, while 23.97 percent of French people voted for Le Pen. The fate of the French presidency will be decided in the second round on April 24.
Several French presidential candidates, in particular the Socialist Party candidate and mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, Communist Party leader Fabienne Roussel, French Greens candidate Yannick Jadot, and right-wing Republican candidate Valérie Pecress, have called for Macron to vote.
The second round will be between the same candidates as in 2017. Back then, Macron won about 66% of the vote and Le Pen about 33%.
