European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote on Twitter that the European Union is preparing a sixth package of sanctions against Russia.
"We can never match the sacrifice of the Ukrainian people. But we will mobilize our economic power to make Putin pay for everything. We have imposed tough sanctions against Russia and are already preparing a sixth wave. Russia will go down, and Ukraine is on its way to a European future," Ursula said.
The president of the European Commission also confirmed that the EU was increasing by 500 million euros to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
