The Verkhovna Rada has registered a bill that proposes to recognize Russia's war crimes in the war against Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian nation. This is reported by the website of the parliament.

The draft resolution was submitted in view of the fact that the Russian Federation resorted to deliberate actions aimed at the destruction of the Ukrainian nation - mass torture, killing of civilians, destruction of residential buildings, infrastructure of life support and so on.

The text of the document notes that the Russian Federation is the successor state of the USSR. It is responsible for the genocide (Holodomor) of 1932-33 and the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944. And also for the current Nazi political regime in Moscow.

Also taken into account is the Mariupol City Council address of April 1, 2022, numerous proofs of Russian war crimes in Bucha, Volnovakha, Irpen, Mariupol, Akhtyrka, Kharkiv, Chernigov and many other cities in Ukraine.

In addition, it is proposed to instruct law enforcement agencies to ensure the investigation of the genocide and bring the perpetrators to justice. To call on other countries and international organizations to assist the military investigation of the crimes of the Russian Federation, as well as to apply the toughest sanctions against it.

"To recognize the continuing criminal actions of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine since February 24, 2022, genocide of the Ukrainian nation," the text of the document reads.

It should be noted that on April 4, the LDPR faction submitted to the State Duma a draft statement on the alleged "recognition of the genocide of Russians in Ukraine."

The deputies of the State Duma claim that Ukraine has been committing a crime of genocide against the Russian population living on the territories of the "Donetsk people's republic and Luhansk people's republic" for eight years.
