The Moldovan Foreign Ministry says it has no information about the mobilization of Russian troops in Transnistria.
"Responsible Moldovan state institutions are closely monitoring the security situation in the region. So far, there is no information confirming the mobilization of troops in Transnistria," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The authorities will continue monitoring and information exchange with partners in order to ensure the safety of citizens, the ministry added.
Earlier, the Ukrainian General Staff said that the Russians began to involve units of Russian troops in Transnistria - for provocations and demonstration actions on the border with Ukraine.
"The redeployment of Russian troops and units of the so-called Transnistrian-Moldovan Republic has been noted in order to prepare for a demonstration of readiness for an offensive and, possibly, combat actions against Ukraine," the General Staff said.
