The Verkhovna Rada has passed, as a whole, Bill 7169, which provides for the nationalization of property owned, in addition to Russian legal entities, by citizens of the Russian Federation and Ukrainian citizens who publicly deny the war.

Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the Golos faction, said in a Telegram channel that 305 MPs voted for the bill in its second reading at Friday's parliamentary session, with 226 votes required.

The bill, according to the document on the parliament's website, expands the range of Russian residents whose assets will be subject to nationalization of property and funds, in particular, they also include Russian citizens and those who have not stopped their economic activities in the aggressor country during martial law.

The law defines, among other things, that residents of the Russian Federation, in addition to legal entities, also include citizens of Russia and persons who are not citizens of Russia, but have "the closest connection with the Russian Federation, in particular, have a place of residence or are engaged in the main activity.

The MPs also propose to include as residents of the aggressor country, by decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (NSDC) or a court, individuals or legal entities, regardless of their citizenship, place of residence, location and main activities, which publicly deny or support the Russian military aggression against Ukraine, the establishment of temporary occupation in Ukraine and which have not stopped their economic activities in Russia during martial law in Ukraine, the draft law says.
