Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he plans to hold separate talks with Ukrainian and Russian presidents Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin this week.
This was reported by the Daily Sabah.
"I intend to hold talks with both Mr. Putin and Mr. Zelensky as soon as I return. In these meetings, we will thank them both on behalf of myself and my people and say, 'Our goal is to bring you two together as soon as possible,'" Erdoğan said.
He also expressed hope that the two leaders will meet in the near future.
"I hope that when they meet, we will get a historical reference from them. In that context, we are ready to host a meeting that will take place at the level of heads of state. But in the meantime, it is very important to ensure a temporary ceasefire," Erdoğan added.
