NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg commented on Poland's initiative to send a peacekeeping mission to Ukraine. According to him, the alliance will not send its troops. He said this at a press conference.
"NATO is not involved in the conflict, we continue to support Ukraine, but we are not a party to the conflict... NATO will not send troops to Ukraine. It is important to understand that it is necessary to prevent a possible war between NATO and Russia," Stoltenberg said.
At the same time, he did not assess the possibility of repeating the mission in Iraq, when some NATO member states formed a coalition without involving the alliance itself.
