Wearing masks on the street is abolished in Georgia

March 28, masks are no longer mandatory in the streets of Georgia. This was stated by the head of the operational staff of interagency coordination council Giorgi Gibradze, said Ekho Kavkaza.

All covid restrictions, except for the mask regime in closed rooms and on public transport, will be lifted in the country, Gibradze said.

"Restrictions on the number (of visitors) in catering facilities, as well as at sports, creative and other events, including social events, will be lifted. Employees working remotely will return to their workplaces. The obligation of self-isolation for those Georgian citizens who return to the country without PCR test will be canceled," Gibradze said.

According to him, the program to encourage vaccination in the country will continue. Georgian citizens over the age of 50 who get their first vaccination with the coronavirus vaccine will receive a one-time assistance of 200 GEL ($62). Citizens over the age of 50 who do a booster dose receive a cash reward of 100 GEL ($31) from the state.

It should be noted that on the previous day, 1,053 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Georgia, and seven more patients died. The number of detected cases reached 1,643,295, 1,601,578 were cured and 16,678 died.
