The 42nd and 43rd U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush expressed their support for Ukraine opposing a military invasion by the Russian Federation.
With blue and yellow ribbons on their lapels, the presidents placed bunches of sunflowers outside St. Vladimir and Olga Greek Catholic Church in Chicago.
"America is united with the people of Ukraine in their fight for freedom and against oppression," Clinton wrote on Twitter.
The George W. Bush Presidential Center also left a note about the event, "America stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine as they fight for their freedom and future."
