Zelensky: Ukraine became a member of the "energy European Union"

The system operator of the Ukrainian power grid, NEC Ukrenergo, together with its European colleagues has completed the merger of the domestic and European energy systems. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this, the press service of the OP reported.

"Ukrainian and European power systems are already working synchronously," said the head of state.

He recalled that at night, when Russia started a war against Ukraine, our state disconnected from the Russian and Belarusian power systems, and will never go back.

"The enemy expected that the Ukrainian power system would collapse, that we would fail, so he seized the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, deliberately bombed and bombed the thermal power plants of Ukrainian cities and power lines. But the Ukrainian power system worked steadily and sustainably for all 21 days of the war, which was acknowledged by the Europeans. And as of today, we are no longer alone. And from now on, Ukrainian electricity flows to Europe, European electricity flows to Ukraine", Volodymyr Zelensky noted.

According to him, from now on the Ukrainian energy system has reliable energy reserves, which are located behind the western border, so it is protected from the occupier's attacks.

"I am grateful to all EU member states, personally to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson and those dozens of people from the Ukrainian and European sides who worked day and night during these days of war, so that today we can say this: Ukraine is in the "energy EU". We now have the only energy circulatory system from Lisbon to Mariupol. Ukraine is in the "energy eurozone. We cannot be defeated," said the President.
