German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and called for a cease-fire and continued negotiations. This was reported by Western media such as AFP and N-TV, citing their sources.

"Germany and France demanded an immediate cease-fire from Russia" and "insisted that any solution to this crisis must be reached through negotiations between Ukraine and Russia," German government sources said.

The Elysee Palace confirmed the call, adding that EU leaders will discuss the conflict in Ukraine at a summit in Versailles tonight.

"The three leaders have agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days," the report said.

Earlier today, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held talks in Antalya. As a result, unfortunately, it was not possible to agree on a cease-fire with the Russian side, the conditions of the aggressor remain unchanged.
