A group of investigators of the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague (ICC) has left for Ukraine to investigate an international class action against Russia, accused of possible war crimes. This was reported by the BBC.
Responding to questions from reporters on Thursday, Karim Khan, chief prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal, made it clear that the actions of the Russian side fall under the jurisdiction of the ICC.
"Any party directly targeting civilians and civilian objects commits a crime as defined by the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and international humanitarian laws," Khan said.
Recall that the UN International Court of Justice will hold hearings on the Russian invasion of Ukraine on March 7 and 8.
