The US House of Representatives passed a resolution supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and calling for "an immediate cease-fire and withdrawal of all Russian forces from Ukraine.
According to the vote, lawmakers from both parties supported the resolution almost unanimously, with 426 votes in favor and three against.
The resolution, which is nonbinding, states that lawmakers "support the Ukrainian people in their struggle."
The congressmen "demand an immediate cease-fire and the withdrawal of all Russian forces from Ukraine."
The document also calls on the U.S. and its allies "to provide additional and immediate defense security assistance to help Ukraine deal with armored, airborne and other threats."
It is noted that U.S. lawmakers "will never recognize or support any illegal Russian-controlled leader or government established by force."
The lawmakers said they "support the continued imposition of sanctions in coordination with U.S. allies and partners" to "completely economically isolate" Moscow.
Meanwhile, U.S. senators are proposing to impose sanctions on all Russian state enterprises.
For example, U.S. Senators Marco Rubio and Chuck Grassley have introduced a bill that would impose broad sanctions on all state-owned enterprises in Russia, Rubio's press office reported.
"The HEROIAM SLAVA bill, named after the iconic Ukrainian call and symbol of national resistance, would deny companies controlled or owned by Moscow, such as Rosneft, Gazprom, Rosatom, Aeroflot and RT, access to critical American capital," the statement said.
It is noted that no Russian state-owned company should have access to U.S. capital while there is aggression in Ukraine.
