The authorities of Kherson have agreed with the Russian occupation troops to ensure the maintenance of life in the city, while the Ukrainian flag will remain above the city hall of the regional center. This was announced by the mayor of Kherson Ihor Kolyhaev.

He said that armed representatives of the occupants came to the mayor's office and held talks with him.

"We have shown that we are working to ensure the city and trying to eliminate the consequences of the invasion. We are experiencing enormous difficulties in collecting and burying the dead, delivering food and medicine, removing garbage, repairing accidents, etc.," he wrote.

According to Kolyhaev, the events taking place are politics.

"I didn't make any promises to them. I simply have nothing to promise. I am only interested in the normal functioning of our city! I just asked them not to shoot people. We have no AFU in the city, only civilians," said the mayor.

He also voiced the results of the negotiations with the Russian troops:

1. It is allowed to go to the city only in the daytime;

2. Curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. is strictly maintained.

3. Only cars with food, medicine and other things are allowed into town;

4. There will be public transportation to get to work the employees of the bakery, stores, pharmacies, etc.;

5. Pedestrians walk one, two at the most. The military are not provoked. They stop at the first demand. There is no conflict;

6. Cars that are allowed to be in the city under the conditions, drive at a minimum speed, will have to be ready at any time to show the contents of the transports.

"The flag above us is Ukrainian. And to keep it that way, these requirements will have to be met. I can't suggest anything else yet," Kolyhaev summarized.
