On March 7 and 8, the UN International Court of Justice will hold hearings on the claim of Ukraine against the Russian Federation for violation by Russia of the Convention on the Prevention of the Crime of Genocide. The court said.
"The International Court of Justice, the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, will hold a public hearing on the case concerning the charges of genocide under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Ukraine v. Russia) on Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the Peace Palace in The Hague, where the court is located," the statement said.
The hearing will reportedly focus on Ukraine's request for interim measures.
"Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the hearing will be held in a mixed format. Some members of the court will attend in person at oral sessions in the Great Hall of Justice while others will participate remotely via video link. Representatives of the parties to the case will participate in person or by video link," the statement said.
