"We need more!" Employees of the EU embassy in Ukraine wrote a letter to colleagues in Europe

About 100 employees of the EU Delegation to Ukraine wrote an open letter to their managers and colleagues in Brussels and other EU Delegations around the world.

The text of the letter:

"To all Colleagues, Partners and Friends,

We address you in this darkest hour for Ukraine as Russian military forces continue Putin's invasion of our country. The fight is not always one-sided. Ukraine has successfully used the thousands of anti-tank weapons provided by Ukraine's partners in recent months. We are grateful for this assistance and for the recently announced EU sanctions package in response to Russia's attack. But we need more. So far, these efforts "with serious consequences" for the Russian economy have done little to stop or slow down Russian aggression. We are deeply saddened and disappointed by the position of some EU member states on lifting some sanctions, namely blocking Russia's access to SWIFT. This is not the time for balanced or proportional responses!

If you feel at least in part what we do, we ask you to demand from your members of the national and European parliaments, your national government and politicians:

Impose and enforce a no-fly zone over Ukraine with joint air patrols with NATO.

Impose an immediate trade embargo on Russia.

Cut Russia off from the SWIFT system.

Close European skies, waters, and roads to all Russian transport.

Implement complete isolation of Russia in all senses and formats.

Immediate personal sanctions against all Russian oligarchs, their families and associates.

Provide as much military, humanitarian and financial aid as possible to Ukraine.

Write a letter, make a phone call, talk directly to the decision makers if you can. Every little bit helps us. Speak out, do not remain silent about Ukraine and try to give our country a fighting chance!"
