Putin is ready to send a Russian delegation to talks with representatives of Ukraine in Minsk. Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said this at a briefing today.
"Today Ukrainian President Zelensky said he was ready to discuss Ukraine's neutral status," Peskov quoted Rossiyskaya Gazeta (the official organ of the Russian government) as saying.
According to Peskov, Russian President Putin initially said that the purpose of the military operation in Ukraine was to help the LNR and DNR, including by demilitarizing and denationalizing Ukraine.
"And this, in fact, is an integral component of the neutral status," Peskov told RIA Novosti.
Putin discussed the details of the meeting with Lukashenko today.
"Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation today with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who in turn assured that he would be ready to create all necessary conditions for the arrival of the delegations, ensuring their safety and immunity, and holding the talks mentioned," Peskov said.
