"This is not just a Russian invasion of Ukraine, this is the beginning of a war against Europe. Against the unity of Europe. Against simple human rights in Europe. Against all the rules of coexistence on the continent. Against the fact that European states refuse to divide, divide borders by force," Zelensky said in an official address.
The President reminded that already for the second day missile and bomb strikes were carried out on Ukrainian cities, and tank columns and air raids were as similar as possible to what "Europe has long seen - during World War II and what it said "never again".
Zelensky expressed gratitude to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, and New Zealand for imposing sectoral sanctions, but noted that "Russian tanks are still shooting at residential buildings in our cities. Armored vehicles are still attacking, including civilians. Ordinary citizens of Ukraine."
At the same time, according to the President, Europe has enough power to stop this aggression.
"What to expect from European countries next? Cancellation of visas for Russians? Cutting off SWIFT? The complete isolation of Russia? Recall of ambassadors? An oil embargo? The closing of the skies? All of these things should be on the table today because we are talking about a threat to us, to all of us, to all of Europe. It is still possible to stop the aggression. We must act without delay," said President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He also appealed to ordinary people around the world to go out to the squares of their cities and demand peace for Europe, peace for Ukraine.
"When bombs fall in Kiev, it happens in Europe not only in Ukraine. When missiles kill our people, it is the death of all Europeans. Demand more protection for Europe, more protection for Ukraine - as part of a democratic world. If you have combat experience in Europe and you don't want to look at the indecision of politicians, you can come to our state and defend Europe with us, where it is very much needed now. You have already been blackmailed with gas. You have already been humiliated. They already want to split you and divide you the same way they are trying to divide Ukraine today," Zelensky said.
Also the President of Ukraine appealed to the President of Russia.
"I want to address the President of the Russian Federation once again. There are fights all over Ukraine. Let's sit down at the negotiating table. To stop the loss of life," said Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Especially President Zelensky appealed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Stand firm. You are all we have. You are all that protects our state. Glory to Ukraine!"- finished his address Zelensky.
