Zelensky: We are not afraid to talk about neutral status, but what security guarantees?

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine is not afraid to talk about neutral status, but asks what security guarantees Ukraine will have.

Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his address to Ukrainians.

"I asked twenty-seven European leaders today whether Ukraine will be in NATO. I asked directly. All are afraid, do not answer. And we are not afraid of anything. We are not afraid, defending our state. We are not afraid of Russia. We are not afraid to talk to Russia. We are not afraid to talk about everything, about guarantees of security of our state.

We are not afraid to talk about the neutral status. We are not in NATO now. But what guarantees will we have in this case? And most importantly - what specific countries will give them to us? - said Vladimir Zelensky.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to each state, which helps Ukraine concretely, not just with words.

"But there is a second thing - we are left alone in defending our state. Who is ready to fight with us? Honestly, I don't see any. Who is ready to give Ukraine a guarantee of accession to NATO? Honestly, everyone is afraid," he said.

"I say to all partners of our state: the fate of our country is being decided now. I ask them: are you with us? They answer that they are with us. But they are not ready to take us into the Alliance with them," stated the President.

He stated that "it is necessary to speak about the end of this invasion, about the end of the war", but underlined that now the fate of the country entirely depends on its defenders.
