NATO Council meets on aggression against Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg issued a statement today condemning the aggression against Ukraine.

"I strongly condemn Russia's reckless and unprovoked attack on Ukraine, which endangers the lives of countless civilians. Once again, despite our repeated warnings and tireless diplomatic efforts, Russia has chosen the path of aggression against a sovereign and independent country," Jens Stoltenberg said at a press conference today.

The NATO secretary general called the actions against Ukraine a violation of international law and a serious threat to the Alliance.

"I call on Russia to immediately stop military action and to respect Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. NATO allies will meet to discuss the consequences of Russia's aggressive actions. We stand with the people of Ukraine in this terrible time. NATO will do everything possible to protect and defend all allies," Stoltenberg said.
