After the recognition of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk "people's republics," the first units of the Russian Armed Forces began to enter occupied Donbass. They are supposed to perform ostensibly peacekeeping functions.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation shall ensure that the Russian Federation Armed Forces perform peacekeeping functions on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic until the conclusion of the agreement referred to in paragraph 3 of this Decree.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the separatist Telegram channels (https://t.me/itsdonetsk/9229).
In particular, they publish videos of the first units of the Russian military on the territory of certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
It should be noted that after Putin announced his support for the independence of the L/DPR, he announced the deployment of Russian troops on the territory of Donbas. This is evidenced by the decrees of the Russian president.
According to the published documents, Russian troops will be officially transferred to the occupied territories for "peacekeeping functions" in Donbas.
This is stated in the documents on the declaration of independence of the self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk Republics.
It is also noted that Russia recognizes the so-called "DPR" and "LPR" within the borders that are now actually established. The issue of ratification of treaties on friendship and cooperation will be considered by the Federation Council on Tuesday.
Andrei Klimov, deputy chairman of the NF committee on international affairs, said.
"We are talking, of course, about those territories that are within the borders established today. Everything else is beyond legal action," Klimov said.
