U.S. President Joe Biden made an address today, particularly regarding the situation around Ukraine.

A Russian invasion of Ukraine is quite possible, said U.S. President Joe Biden, speaking at the White House on Tuesday.

"The Russian defense minister said today that some military units are withdrawing from positions near Ukraine. That would be a good thing, but we don't confirm it. We are not confirming that Russian military units are returning. In fact, our analysts indicate that they remain in a threatening position. The fact remains that Russia has over 150,000 troops in Ukraine and Belarus, around the borders of Ukraine, and an invasion remains a distinct possibility," Joe Biden said.

The U.S. President also noted that the United States, its allies and partners are ready to impose strong sanctions against Russia in the event of an invasion of Ukraine.

"The United States and our allies and partners around the world are prepared to impose strong sanctions on export controls, including actions that we did not take when Russia invaded Crimea in eastern Ukraine in 2014. We will create strong pressure on the largest and most significant financial institutions and key industries. Those measures are ready as soon as and if Russia makes a move," Biden said, speaking at the White House.

The U.S. leader also said that if Russia further invades Ukraine, the fate of Nord Stream 2 will be sealed.

"When it comes to Nord Stream 2 - the pipeline that will pump gas from Russia to Germany - if Russia further invades Ukraine, it won't exist," the U.S. President stressed.

And the U.S. also won't be sending U.S. troops to fight in Ukraine, but has supplied the Ukrainian military with equipment to help defend itself, Joe Biden noted.

"We will not send U.S. troops to fight in Ukraine, we have supplied the Ukrainian military with equipment to help them defend themselves, we have provided training, advice, intelligence for the same purpose. Have no doubt: the U.S. will defend every inch of NATO territory with all the might of American power. An attack on one NATO country is an attack on all of us," Biden said, speaking at the White House on Tuesday.
