A draft appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the "DPR" and "LPR" is scheduled to be considered early next week at the State Duma Council. This was announced by KPRF party leader Gennady Zyuganov, as reported by RosSMI.

A decision regarding an appeal to the Russian president to recognize the "LPR" and "DNR" as independent may be taken at the Duma Council on February 14.

"Now they are going to consider at the beginning of next week. First at the Council in the Duma, apparently, will be - the leaders will gather, discuss, then we will already consider directly on the committees and further in accordance with the protocol," - stressed the politician.

It is noteworthy that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated a few times earlier that at present the Russian Federation is not officially considering the possibility of recognizing the so-called "Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics."

He also recalled that representatives of the DNR withdrew the results of their "referendums" on independence when the Minsk agreements were signed in February 2015.
